We recently celebrated the amazing news that an incredible 5 of our colleagues here at Tenet have been shortlisted in this year’s prestigious 2022 PA Women in Financial Advice Awards. To celebrate this fantastic achievement, we are taking a moment to shine a very small spotlight (despite their shyness) on these incredible women to help you see who they are, what they do, and of course, why their nominations are thoroughly deserved.

These awards are designed to specially recognise the work of women helping other females enter and develop in the finance sector. Each of our colleagues have made it to the finals because of their commitment and effort in this area, including 1-2-1 mentoring, the creation of hybrid working models, and the provision of education and change-of-career opportunities.

As you will see, in some instances we have two colleagues shortlisted for the same award. This has happened because they were nominated externally by clients and partners, and not because we wanted to double our chances of winning! Such client recognition is fantastic and clearly highlights the high esteem they have for our colleagues.

Julie Darlington – Group Regulatory & Risk Director

Shortlisted for - Woman of the Year (Adviser Support Services)

Julie is Tenet’s Regulatory and Risk Director, and is responsible for leading the compliance, financial crime, and risk functions of the network. This includes ensuring members and clients receive the very best advice, as well as keeping the FCA updated. Julie says her success is down to having a team of talented group of people who care deeply about providing people with financial peace of mind. This she says makes work a joy – most days.

Away from Tenet, Julie’s interests include everything from mountain climbing and triathlons to reading and participating in female leadership/mentoring circles. Despite coming from a working-class background of ‘just get on with it’, Julie says she understands how motivating it can be for others to see female leaders from different backgrounds. Julie’s shortlisting for Woman of the Year is clear recognition of her leadership and professionalism in what is a hugely responsible and important role.

Helen Ball – Managing Director, Tenet Group

Shortlisted for – Role Model of the Year (large firms)

Like many, Helen quickly got bored of TV during lockdown, and now prefers to spend her time travelling and with family. Helen’s shortlisting for Role Model of the Year is in recognition of her long-standing commitment to both members and her colleagues. Believing it’s never too late to switch direction, Helen has, and continues to help, colleagues retrain so that they can make the very best of their unique skills and have access to the same opportunities she has had.

Marjolaine Quirke – Director of Client Delivery (TCS)

Shortlisted for – Role Model of the Year (large firms)

 Marjolaine Quirke

As Director of Client Delivery, Marjolaine sees her main role as providing peace of mind to advisers. She does so by ensuring advisers receive effective and professional compliance support in line with regulatory requirements and their unique business objectives. Marjolaine’s shortlisting is in recognition of her on-going commitment to providing the very best services to clients.

Helen Hutchinson – Leaning & Industry Relationships Manager

Shortlisted for - Woman of the Year (Adviser Support Services)

Helen joined Tenet seven years ago and it’s fair to say she’s never looked back. With a love of family and Italy, not necessarily in that order, Helen has always had a passion for helping people. This has proven invaluable in helping Tenet maintain long-term, positive relationships with both internal and external groups.

As Learning & Industry Relationships Manager, Helen is responsible for coordinating the re-design of Tenet’s training programme, including sourcing content, ensuring a continued supply of quality CPD, and getting the very best rates for our members. Her shortlisting for this prestigious award is clear recognition of her determination, professionalism, and positivity in helping our members, such as her recent work on the adviser training hub.

Joanne Rigby – Technical Director

Shortlisted for Woman of the Year (ESG)

Jo Rigby

Despite originally studying accountancy, Jo actively sought a career in financial planning after graduating. A decision she honestly says 20 years later she doesn’t regret. As Technical Director, Jo oversees the provision of daily technical and research support to advisers, as well as updating Tenet’s fund and product panels.

Jo believes a big part of her role is understanding how best to support advisers, as well as helping her team deal with the pressures of working in a fast-paced industry with tight timeframes. She has recently been spearheading Tenet’s soon-to-be-launched ESG offerings, with her leadership and professionalism in this area resulting in a very much deserved nomination in the ESG category.

We are sure you will join us in congratulating our amazing colleagues for being shortlisted and wish them all success at the awards on July 6th.
